When this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can target 1 WIND Tuner monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon that target in Face-Up Defense position. It's effects are negated. If you activated this effect , you cannot Special Summon monsters for te rest of this turn, except WIND monsters. You can only use this effect of "Pilica, Descendant of Gusto" once per turn.
Alright...this is by far one of my favorite cards of all time. The effect is not only very good, but it also makes Gusto decks some of the most consistent and annoying OTKs of all time. Here effect allows you to special summon any wind tuner, so Gusto Gulldo, Gusto Egul, Gusto Falco, Gusto Squrrio, and even Debris Dragon. She can be splashed in any wind synchro/xyz deck. Her best use is when she summons Gusto Gulldo from the graveyard. Their levels add up to 6 making it possible to summon Daigusto Sphreez, the Gusto boss monster. About getting her on the field...
There are many ways to do so, the easiest being to just normal summon her from your hand, or by special summoning her with Emergency Teleport, allowing you to still normal summon another monster. There are however several other ways to do it:
Blessings For Gusto (Normal Trap)
Target 2 "Gusto" monsters in your Graveyard, plus a third "Gusto" monster in your Graveyard; shuffle both of the first 2 targets into your Deck, then Special Summon the third target.
If you have 4 Gusto monsters in your graveyard, one being Pilica and another being a tuner, you can use this card to special summon Pilica from your graveyard to then special summon the tuner to make a synchro or xyz play. If however you have already summon Sphreez and they have destroyed her after you added Pilica back to your hand, you can use this card to summon Sphreez back and if you haven't normal summoned you can continue with your plays, bypassing the "only wind monsters" limitation.
When this card is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard: You can Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower non-Tuner "Gusto" monster from your Deck.
This card is part of the recruiter loop with Gusto Gulldo and Winda. Priestess of Gusto. Because this card can special summon one level 4 or lower non-Tuner, Pilica can be summoned from his effect. It is best to only summon Pilica from this effect when you have other targets in your graveyard, or if you have more non-tuners in your graveyard. You can use cards like Creature Swap or Reeze, Whirlwind of Gusto to switch control of Gusto Egul and a monster your opponent controls to then attack Egul and get a Pilica on the field when he hits your graveyard.
If this card is sent from the hand to your Graveyard: You can Special Summon 1 "Gusto" monster from your Deck. You can only use the effect of "Gusto Griffin" once per turn.
By far the hardest card to use in a pure Gusto deck. his effect is most useful when combined with other Psychic monsters, or when mixed with Dragunities. If he is discarded by the effect of Hushed Psychic Cleric to banish another monster, you can then summon Pilica from the deck to summon a tuner in your graveyard and make a synchro play for Sphreez, to then add back Griffin to do it all over again. If you can get it off it is a very difficult play to stop.
At the end of the Battle Phase, if this card is in the Graveyard because it was destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard this turn: You can banish 1 "Gusto" monster from your Graveyard; Special Summon 1 WIND Psychic-Type monster with 1500 or less DEF from your Deck.
Another under-rated card from this Archetype. Thunbolt can banish himself to summon Pilica from the deck to make a play for Sphreez. He can also banish any other Gusto, such as Pilica, which can later be summoned back with other cards such as Leviair the Sea Dragon or Different Dimension Reincarnation.
Windaar, Sage of Gusto
When this card destroys a monster by battle and sends it to the Graveyard; You can target 1 level 3 or lower "Gusto" monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon that target in Face-Up Defense Position.
Pilica is a level 3 Gusto monster, meaning she can be summoned off of his effect which would allow for you to then special summon Gulldo and make a play for Sphreez. This can be repeated if your opponent cannot attack over Windaar, or you do not add your Pilica or Gulldo back to hand from Sphreez' effect.
1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner "Gusto" monsters
When this card is Synchro Summoned: You can target 1 "Gusto" card in your Graveyard; add that target to your hand. Your opponent takes any Battle Damage you would have taken from battles involving a face-up "Gusto" monster you control. This card cannot be destroyed by battle.
Always remember that the first effect is optional, you do not have to add back to your hand, you can if you wish. Pilica + Gulldo is the best way to summon this card. You then have the option to add back Pilica, if you've already normal summoned, to do it again. Or to add back Gulldo, if Pilica was special summoned, to then normal summon Gulldo are start the OTK loop.
Call of the Haunted (Continuous Trap)
Activate this card by targeting 1 monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon that target in face-up Attack Position. When this card leaves the field destroy that target. When that target is destroyed, destroy this card.
One of the best staples for Gusto decks. You can use this card to summon Pilica during your opponents end phase, therefore removing the "Wind monster" limitation when you start your turn allowing you to summon monsters such as HTS Psyhemuth, Goyo Guardian, and Thought Ruler Archfiend. Also if your opponent were to destroy it while it is set, you can use it to summon Gulldo, which would allow you to search after he is sent to the graveyard.
Dimensionhole (Normal Spell)
Remove 1 monster on your side of the field from play until your next Standby Phase. The card still counts towards the 5-card Monster Zone limit.
This card can be good to banish a Pilica who's effect has been negated and is just sitting on the field. It is not recommended to use this card in pure Gusto.
Hushed Psychic Cleric
When this card is Normal or Flip Summoned, it is changed to Defense Position. Once per turn, you can send 1 card from your hand to the Graveyard to select 1 Psychic-Type monster in your Graveyard, and remove it from play. When this card is sent from the field to the Graveyard, select 1 monster removed from play by this effect, and Special Summon it.
As mentioned before, this card is one of the ways to use Griffin to summon Pilica, but you can also banish Pilica though his effect to later summon her after he's sent to the graveyard.
Leviair the Sea Dragon
2 Level 3 monsters
Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card to target 1 banished level 4 or lower monster; Special Summon that target to your side of the field.
You can use this amazing Xyz to summon any of your banished Gustos, especially Pilica (Caam is also a good option). This card is a must in Psy-Gusto decks and is highly recommended in Pure Gusto. It can summon monster banished off of the effects of Gusto Thunbolt, Daigusto Eguls, and Hushed Psychic Cleric.
Silent Psychic Wizard
When this card is Normal Summoned, you can select 1 Psychic-Type monster in your Graveyard, and remove it from play. When this card is sent from the field to the Graveyard, Special Summon that removed monster.
This one's pretty straightforward, banish Pilica, when he leaves the field, bring her back.
Serene Psychic Witch
When this card on the field is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard: You can banish 1 Psychic-Type monster with 2000 or less ATK from your Deck. During the next Standby Phase, if this card stays in the Graveyard: Special Summon the Monster banished by this card's effect.
This is the only non Gusto Psychic I'd run in a pure Gusto build. This card has the potential to summon any of the Gusto Psychic monsters. You can use her effect to special summon a Pilica from your deck to summon a tuner and make a synchro play.
